Fair Market Valuation Process
AnythingIT (AIT) has been providing IT asset disposition services since 1991. A GSA contracted, Small Business vendor with Congressional Recommendation for IT Asset Management Services, (GS-35F-0439M) AIT routinely performs Inventory Audits, Remarketing, Forensic Data Scrub (Department of Defense certified), Trade-In, Donation Processing, and Disposal services.
Our valuation model is based on processing large quantities of surplus or excess technology from both the public and private sectors and remarketing these assets to European, Latin American and Domestic markets in an expedient manner. This practice ensures an immediate return on investment (ROI) rather than the online auction model which can take as long as 90-120 days to execute resale transactions and gives us the ability to offer a Fair Market Valuation (FMV) in advance of a single transaction. As a global trader of surplus technology, AIT buys and sells IT assets daily and has the capacity to formulate FMVs on traditional IT products (i.e. monitors, laptops, & desktops) monthly. Additionally, the General Services Administration (GSA) Personal Property Management Divison for Federal/State/Local Government has approved these values for technology asset resale.
AIT provides a simple FMV index monthly for mainstream products to partners & clients so they can understand the immediate economic benefits available to them for equipment received in good working condition. AIT also has the capacity to remarket any type of IT device, from PC based systems to Enterprise Storage Area Networks (SANs), Networking Gear, Unix and Mainframe systems. A dynamic services offering that enables a comprehensive lifecycle services offering for the multiple requirements of our wide-ranging customer base..
Contributing factors to receiving a maximum FMV include:
Condition: All received equipment must be audited by AnythingIT and found to be in complete working condition
Project Timeline: If the project commences in the near term, there is a greater chance of equipment values being higher
Contributing factors to a potential reduction in the market FMV include:
Monitors: Units that are found to be Ònon-workingÓ or manufactured before 1997 have no resale value. Horizontal Lines, Burned Screens, Discoloration, damage caused by negligence or misuse and/or in need of a repair void of the OEM warranty are considered to be
Laptops: Missing components such as A/C Adapters, Batteries, CD/DVD Drives, or Floppy Drives will receive a reduction for replacement.
Printers: Cosmetic damage to the housing may impact the full FMV.
Incomplete: Assets or Peripherals that are received by AIT missing a material component or components that would prevent them from functioning in a material manner have no residual value.
